There is only one conclusion to be drawn from this brilliant analysis. There was no medical basis for the imposition of mandatory mask-wearing on the Irish people in the summer of 2020. That much is clear from the research available to the government before and after the decision was made.

One day we may find out the real reason. In the meantime, Damian's analysis of Donnelly's "oodles of data" is a giant step in the right direction.

I have no doubt the effort you expended on this will be disproportionate to the attention it will receive. But thank you. What your breakdown highlights is not only that there was no scientific basis for so much of the nonsense over the last two years (and the laziness of Donnelly's flimflam attempts), but also that there was a complete lack of governance. Groupthink and bluster dominated all.

The clear conclusion from this analysis is that politicians and so called health care professionals are lying pieces of shit that have no scruples when it comes to their own citizens. Add in their enforcers, the media, and you have the perfect storm where elderly people are terrified and more than likely to contribute to them getting sick and the disastrous developmental effects on children which will manifest itself over time and all done without a shred of evidence. Donnelly should be pursued rigorously on this and be forced to admit he made disastrous recommendations based on nothing but lies. I won’t hold my breath. Well done Damien for having the patience to wade through such waffle.

Thank you for your service. That we are being ruled by nonentities with a sadistic streak is proof - if we needed it - of Hannah Arendt’s “banality of evil” dictum. I am fed up to the back teeth of even having to discuss this nonsense with anyone any longer. But thank you for deconstructing the oodles dump. Good work and a good read.

Excellent essay, Damian.

My own conclusion, after watching the WHO reverse it's position of the Spring of 2020 that masks wouldn't have any effect on transmission, was that masks were merely a visual representation of compliance to the authorities.

This makes sense. In Ireland, at any rate, there seemed to be a political imperative to scare the people so much that they would do anything they were told.

Varadkar's annoucement that schools would close immediately and his tweet about the inflation of covid fatalities both seem calculated to terrify rather than protect.

This. "The first is not data at all, e.g., all the NPHET minutes and official recommendations. There is no data within them. They are not studies." I found much the same thing when I examined the U.S. CDC's list of studies that supposedly justified masking, back in October, 2020. In fact, a large percentage of the cited studies--9 of the 19 they showed at that time--did not mention masks at all. As time went on, the CDC apparently realized that people might follow the links to these studies, so they kept them in the list on their website but removed the links to PubMed or wherever. (No, I'm not kidding.) I am certain the PTB have always been just as vapid, but this marks the first time I have seen it illustrated so starkly. ETA: By the way, there was a German study that got a lot of play, because it supported the use of masks, that had *exactly* the same problem as the Kansas City study you noted. The study period covered the timeframe when masks appeared to be working. Almost immediately thereafter, the data showed exactly the opposite. By sheer coincidence, I am sure, the researchers cut off the study period before all that happened!

The whole thing is a lazy hoax. But it works because no one, outside a few oddballs like us, would ever bother to actually interrogate the data.

Thank you for taking the time to write this article. I’ve never been so disappointed in people whose responsibility it is, is to ask questions and check what there saying has some reasonable rationale .. and they didn’t . Utterly useless...

Excellent article highlighting once again that what we are dealing with is a pandemic by governmental decree. Without the police and judiciary enforcing it with threats, violence and crippling fines, it would have passed away in the same way that previous flus have done. Instead we have witnessed the dismantling of western society "to keep us safe" and the ushering in of a dystopian nightmare.
