I look forward to meeting you ... and your father ... in the future. The imagery is an apropos metaphor for the last few years. We’ve made it to the top... but the trip down also seems fraught with danger.
Thanks. Your writing and your pithy Twitter/X commentary has been one of the silver linings of COVID.
I enjoyed this piece as it's usually the case with most of your writing. Quite inspirational since I've been turning to the nature more and more lately.
Is it possible to get your father's book overseas?
What a great adventure, something to look back on and remember when you're an old man yourself Damian. I can't be at your dad's book launch as I'm out of the country but I've bought the book and lined it up to read when I return. The highest mountain I climbed was the Sugarloaf with the five children when they were young. The view was great
Thank you Fionnuala, that's very nice of you and I appreciate it.
The Sugar Loaf is a tough climb. It's not that much shorter than Croagh Patrick although by the time you've parked the car you're actually already halfway up. With Croagh Patrick, you pretty much start at sea level.
Nice read. Are you gone from twitter? Always skipped straight to your tweets
Thanks. That's nice to hear. I'm on a break for a while. Will go back in a couple of weeks.

Thank you James. You're always very kind.

Thanks Zve!
Yes, you can get it on Lulu and on Amazon. Digital or print.

Super inspiring and moving story.
The struggle and pain going up is part of the prize. Lovely piece Damian. Sorry spelt your name wrong first time round!
Cheers. Ah I get it wrong sometimes myself...
Great Post, road trip, thoughts and persuasion. Shine on, keep building that mountain, Dreyfuss.
Thanks Crofty. I'll get my hands on it from one of those sites.
Thanks for that. (I deleted the details of the event as it's over now.)
